Hello, my name is Katie Yang! I’m a UK based artist and currently working in children’s animation.

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire 2D Animation/character design course in 2019. I’m particularly interested in children’s media and would love to help bring new and diverse stories to kids.

 

My life was always filled with animation, as a kid, I loved watching 2D animations such as Cardcaptor Sakura, Tom and Jerry and Monkey Journey to the West. I would often pause the TV to draw my favourite characters. Nowadays, I draw inspiration from a wide range of sources - different cultures/traditions, life stories/experiences, languages, food and music.

 

When I'm not drawing, I’ll be drinking tea, doing needle felting, playing video games, or chillin’ with the neighbour’s cats.
